Related Themes: Agni Purana 34 (Pūjā-vidhi: abhiṣeka, kalaśa-vidhi, homa-prayoga)
It teaches the abhiṣeka sequence: bathe the installed deity while reciting the deity’s mūlamantra, use pañcāmṛta for consecratory bathing, and conclude by pouring purified water from the central kumbha onto the deity’s crown.
By preserving precise temple-ritual protocol (mantra-use, substances like pañcāmṛta, and the kumbha arrangement), it functions as a practical liturgical manual alongside the Purana’s many other disciplines.
Abhiṣeka with mantra, pañcāmṛta, and pure water is a purificatory and consecratory act, affirming divine presence in worship and accruing merit through correct, reverent ritual performance.
