The Manifestation of Māyā as Durgā/Kātyāyanī and the Slaying of Vaitrāsura
साभिलाषां परस्त्रीं च भजमानां विसर्ज्जयेत् । स पापः पुरुषो ज्ञेयो ब्रह्महत्यां च विन्दति । एवं ज्ञात्वा महाराज भजमानां भजस्व माम् ॥ २८.१० ॥
sābhilāṣāṃ parastrīṃ ca bhajamānāṃ visarjjayet | sa pāpaḥ puruṣo jñeyo brahmahatyāṃ ca vindati | evaṃ jñātvā mahārāja bhajamānāṃ bhajasva mām || 28.10 ||
Il faut écarter la femme qui désire, mais qui est l’épouse d’un autre et recherche l’union. L’homme qui l’accueille doit être tenu pour pécheur et encourt la faute de brahma-hatyā (meurtre d’un brahmane). Sachant cela, ô grand roi, unis-toi à moi, moi qui te suis dévouée.
