Viśvāmitra (deduced from Adhyāya context; confirmed later in 66)
Tirtha: Ayodhyā-snāna (contextual tīrtha rite)
Type: ghat
Listener: Yakṣa (addressed)
Scene: A Yakṣa figure stands as a karmic collector at a river-ghāṭa while a deluded pilgrim turns away from bathing; the unseen ledger of yearly merit is symbolically seized.
Neglect of prescribed tīrtha-dharma out of moha leads to spiritual loss; vigilance in observance protects one’s puṇya.
The Ayodhyā tīrtha where the obligatory snāna is emphasized.
Do not omit the required snāna; the verse frames it as a decisive annual observance.
