Viśvāmitra (deduced from Adhyāya context; confirmed later in 66)
Tirtha: Ayodhyā tīrtha (Yakṣa-presided spot)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Yakṣa (addressed)
Scene: A pilgrim, freshly bathed, approaches a Yakṣa shrine or icon at the tīrtha’s edge, offering flowers, incense, and water; the Yakṣa appears regal, protective, and benevolent; the river and ghāṭ remain in view.
Tīrtha practice is complete when inner purification (snāna) is followed by reverent worship, leading to pāpa-kṣaya.
Ayodhyā’s tīrtha precinct where the Yakṣa is to be worshipped after bathing.
After bathing at the tīrtha, perform vidhivat pūjā to the Yakṣa (in his presence).
