Narrator (Purāṇic narration; speaker not explicit in this verse)
Tirtha: Vastrāpatha-kṣetra (Prabhāsa)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Divine assembly
Scene: A guardian-deity posture: the speaker (contextually Viṣṇu) vows to restrain dharma-destroyers; in the background, Śiva is shown pleased—smiling or in boon-giving calm—while celestial registers of the heaven-bound are set in order.
Dharma must be protected by restraining its violators, while the righteous are guided into a divinely sanctioned order leading to higher worlds.
The verse belongs to the Vastrāpatha-kṣetra-māhātmya of Prabhāsa Khaṇḍa, framing the kṣetra as a place where dharmic order is established.
No explicit ritual is mentioned; it emphasizes moral governance—checking adharma and supporting svarga-gāmins.
