यदा स मार्यमाणोऽपि मृत्युं प्राप्नोति न क्वचित् । हिरण्यकशिपोर्वक्षो दह्यते क्रोधवह्निना । तदा शिक्षयितुं पुत्रं मुखाग्रे संनिवेश्य च

yadā sa māryamāṇo'pi mṛtyuṃ prāpnoti na kvacit | hiraṇyakaśiporvakṣo dahyate krodhavahninā | tadā śikṣayituṃ putraṃ mukhāgre saṃniveśya ca

Lorsque, bien qu'attaqué à maintes reprises, il ne trouva la mort d'aucune façon, la poitrine de Hiraṇyakaśipu brûla du feu de la colère. Alors, souhaitant « discipliner » son fils, il l'assit devant son visage.
