नारद उवाच । पाद्मकल्पे व्यतिक्रांते रात्र्यंते शृणु वामन । ब्रह्माण्डं वारिणा व्याप्तमन्यत्किं चिन्न विद्यते

nārada uvāca | pādmakalpe vyatikrāṃte rātryaṃte śṛṇu vāmana | brahmāṇḍaṃ vāriṇā vyāptamanyatkiṃ cinna vidyate

Nārada dit : «Écoute, ô Vāmana. Quand le Padma-kalpa fut révolu, à la fin de la nuit, tout le Brahmāṇḍa (l’univers) était envahi par les eaux ; rien d’autre n’existait.»
