Type: temple
Listener: dvijoत्तम (addressed brāhmaṇa interlocutor)
Scene: Citragupta installs a liṅga in the sacred field; priests and sages witness the consecration; the liṅga is newly adorned, and the name ‘Citraguptēśvara’ is proclaimed as celestial drums sound.
Establishing and honoring a Śiva-liṅga in a sanctified kṣetra makes that form of Śiva universally revered and spiritually potent.
Vastrāpathakṣetra within the Prabhāsa Khaṇḍa, where the liṅga named Citraguptēśvara is praised.
The verse implies pratiṣṭhā and pūjā of a liṅga (establishment and worship), though no detailed rite is specified here.
