इन्द्र उवाच । हिरण्यकशिपोर्वंशे बलिर्दैत्यो महा बलः । तेनेदं सकलं व्याप्तं देवा यज्ञभुजः कृताः
indra uvāca | hiraṇyakaśiporvaṃśe balirdaityo mahā balaḥ | tenedaṃ sakalaṃ vyāptaṃ devā yajñabhujaḥ kṛtāḥ
Indra dit : «Dans la lignée d’Hiraṇyakaśipu se trouve Bali, un Daitya d’une force immense. Par lui, tout ce royaume a été envahi, et les dieux ont été réduits à de simples “mangeurs des offrandes du yajña”, dépouillés de leur souveraineté.»
