Narrator (contextual; the repentant man’s inner reflection)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Tīrtha-śravaṇa audience
Scene: A reflective monologue: the sage gestures to his heart, contrasting dark silhouettes of bad company with luminous figures of paṇḍitas; the idea ‘not dear to oneself’ is shown as inner fragmentation healing toward wholeness.
Without viveka and satsaṅga, sin increases; service to the wise restores direction and inner well-being.
The teaching occurs within Prabhāsakṣetra Māhātmya, framing Prabhāsa as a setting for reform and purification.
No ritual is prescribed here; the verse emphasizes ethical discipline—satsaṅga and paṇḍita-sevā.
