Skanda Purana — Prabhasa Khanda, Shloka 3

तर्पयित्वा ततः सूर्यं धूपमाल्यविलेपनैः । वेदोक्तैः स्तवनैः सूक्तैर्दिवारात्रं समाहितः

tarpayitvā tataḥ sūryaṃ dhūpamālyavilepanaiḥ | vedoktaiḥ stavanaiḥ sūktairdivārātraṃ samāhitaḥ

Puis, après avoir dûment satisfait Sūrya par des offrandes—encens, guirlandes et onguents—il demeura, jour et nuit, absorbé, le louant par des hymnes et des sūkta consacrés par les Veda.
