कामेन विहितं काम्यमभिप्रेतार्थसिद्धये । वृद्धौ यत्क्रियते श्राद्धं वृद्धि श्राद्धं तदुच्यते
kāmena vihitaṃ kāmyamabhipretārthasiddhaye | vṛddhau yatkriyate śrāddhaṃ vṛddhi śrāddhaṃ taducyate
Le śrāddha institué par un désir précis, afin d’obtenir l’accomplissement d’un but souhaité, est appelé śrāddha « kāmya » (motivé par le désir). Et le śrāddha accompli lors d’un accroissement et d’une prospérité est nommé « vṛddhi-śrāddha » (śrāddha de croissance).
