Type: kshetra
Listener: Brāhmaṇa sages / Purāṇa audience
Scene: Balarāma, eyes wide with fury, body tense, strikes the Sūta-born man; the sages recoil in shock; the air feels charged as if demons themselves were stirred—an eruption of violence within a holy assembly.
Unchecked anger (krodha) destroys discernment and leads to grave sin requiring expiation.
Prabhāsa-kṣetra, where the consequences of wrongdoing and the path of purification are taught.
None here; the verse narrates the transgression that will necessitate prāyaścitta.
