नारद उवाच । अहो बत महत्कष्टं सावित्र्या नृपते कृतम् । बालस्वभावादनया गुणवान्सत्यवाग्वृतः
nārada uvāca | aho bata mahatkaṣṭaṃ sāvitryā nṛpate kṛtam | bālasvabhāvādanayā guṇavānsatyavāgvṛtaḥ
Nārada dit : «Hélas ! ô roi, une grande épreuve a été suscitée par Sāvitrī ; car, par l’élan de la jeunesse, elle a choisi un homme vertueux, voué à la vérité et véridique en ses paroles.»
