पुत्रि प्रदानकालस्ते न हि कश्चिद्वृणोति माम् । विचारयन्न पश्यामि वरं तुल्यमिहात्मनः
putri pradānakālaste na hi kaścidvṛṇoti mām | vicārayanna paśyāmi varaṃ tulyamihātmanaḥ
«Ma fille, le temps est venu de te donner en mariage ; pourtant nul ne sollicite alliance avec moi. J’y réfléchis, et je ne vois ici aucun époux d’égale valeur.»
