अग्ने त्वं सर्वभक्षोऽसि पूर्वं पुत्रेण मे कृतः । भ्रूणहा धर्म इत्येष कथं दग्धं दहाम्यहम्

agne tvaṃ sarvabhakṣo'si pūrvaṃ putreṇa me kṛtaḥ | bhrūṇahā dharma ityeṣa kathaṃ dagdhaṃ dahāmyaham

Ô Agni, tu es le dévoreur de tout ; jadis, mon fils t’a fait tel. Mais « celui qui tue un embryon est hors du dharma » : comment pourrais-je brûler ce qui a déjà été brûlé ?
