उपहूतोपहूतेन आगतेषु द्विजन्मसु । क्रियमाणे तथा भक्ष्ये दृष्ट्वा देवी क्रुधान्विता । उवाच देवी ब्रह्माणं सदोमध्ये तु मौनिनम्

upahūtopahūtena āgateṣu dvijanmasu | kriyamāṇe tathā bhakṣye dṛṣṭvā devī krudhānvitā | uvāca devī brahmāṇaṃ sadomadhye tu mauninam

Lorsque les deux-fois-nés furent arrivés selon les invitations et contre-invitations, et tandis que l’on préparait la nourriture, la Déesse, voyant cela, s’emplit de colère. Au milieu de la salle d’assemblée, elle s’adressa à Brahmā, assis là dans le silence.
