Type: kshetra
Scene: Sāvitrī pronounces the curse: Lakṣmī depicted as a radiant goddess with a restless, wind-tossed veil, symbolizing her inability to stay in one place; shadowy figures of ‘fools’ appear as the destined company.
Fortune (Lakṣmī) is unstable where dharma is weak; prosperity gravitates away from folly and unrighteousness.
Prabhāsakṣetra is the māhātmya setting, though the verse focuses on the moral symbolism of Lakṣmī’s mobility.
No specific ritual; it conveys a dharmic principle about merit (puṇya) and the stability of prosperity.
