तस्य सांबः सुतो जज्ञे जांबवत्यां महाबलः । स तु पित्रा भृशं शप्तः कुष्ठरोगमवाप्तवान् । तेन संस्थापितः सूर्यो निजनाम्ना पुरं कृतम्
tasya sāṃbaḥ suto jajñe jāṃbavatyāṃ mahābalaḥ | sa tu pitrā bhṛśaṃ śaptaḥ kuṣṭharogamavāptavān | tena saṃsthāpitaḥ sūryo nijanāmnā puraṃ kṛtam
De Lui naquit le puissant Sāmba, de Jāmbavatī. Mais, cruellement maudit par son père, il fut atteint de la lèpre. Alors il établit le dieu Soleil, Sūrya, et une cité fut fondée portant son propre nom.
