हव्यं देवा न गृह्णन्ति कव्यं च पितरस्तथा । पूजां गृह्णाति नो सूर्यस्तथा चैव पितामहाः
havyaṃ devā na gṛhṇanti kavyaṃ ca pitarastathā | pūjāṃ gṛhṇāti no sūryastathā caiva pitāmahāḥ
Les dieux n’acceptent pas l’offrande havya, et de même les ancêtres n’acceptent pas l’offrande kavya. En ce temps-là, même le Soleil n’accueille pas l’adoration, pas plus que les pitāmahas, les aïeux d’autrefois.
