तासु स्नात्वा महाभागा ब्रह्मपुत्रा यशस्विनः । नाम तस्य तदा चक्रुः पंचनद्यश्च तापसाः
tāsu snātvā mahābhāgā brahmaputrā yaśasvinaḥ | nāma tasya tadā cakruḥ paṃcanadyaśca tāpasāḥ
S’étant baignés dans ces rivières, les fils fortunés et illustres de Brahmā — ces ascètes — donnèrent alors à ce lieu le nom de « Pañcanadī ».
