Uddhava
Tirtha: Māyā-saras
Type: kund
Listener: Gopīs
Scene: Uddhava explains the lake’s origin: a renowned daitya, Maya, master of illusion and craft, created the splendid saras; the lake’s name derives from its maker.
Purāṇic tīrthas carry layered histories; even beings famed for māyā become instruments through which sacred geography is established.
Mayasaras—explicitly explained as the lake created by Maya and famous by his name.
No explicit prescription appears; the verse provides tīrtha-māhātmya through origin and naming.
