गोमती च समानीता तपसा नृपसत्तम । तत्र स्नातो नरः सम्यक्पातकै र्विप्रमुच्यते
gomatī ca samānītā tapasā nṛpasattama | tatra snāto naraḥ samyakpātakai rvipramucyate
Ô meilleur des rois, par la puissance de l’ascèse, la rivière Gomatī fut amenée en ce lieu. Celui qui s’y baigne selon le rite est entièrement délivré des péchés et des fautes.

Scene: Vasiṣṭha performs austerity; from the earth or sky, the river Gomatī manifests and fills the kunda; pilgrims bathe as a luminous current enters the pool, symbolizing pātaka release.
Austerity sanctifies geography; bathing at such sanctified waters is taught as a means of inner and karmic purification.
The bathing place at/near Vasiṣṭha’s kuṇḍa where Gomatī is said to have been brought through tapas.
