Brāhmaṇa (the afflicted pilgrim)
Tirtha: Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra (roadside within the sacred region)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Not specified.
Scene: The pilgrim, resigned, gestures to the ground as if choosing the spot to die; he urges his wife to return home with a caravan. The wife stands torn between devotion and fear, with the sacred landscape behind them.
In extreme suffering, one may turn toward surrender; yet dharma also includes concern for the safety of dependents.
The setting remains the sacred kṣetra en route to Muṇḍīrasvāmin, underscoring the gravity of reaching holy places.
No rite is prescribed; practical dharma is advised—return home with a reputable traveling company (sārtha).
