तस्माद्गच्छ गृहं विप्र यावद्गात्रं न दह्यते । बंधुभिस्तव शोकार्तैर्नाधुना तत्र ते स्थितिः
tasmādgaccha gṛhaṃ vipra yāvadgātraṃ na dahyate | baṃdhubhistava śokārtairnādhunā tatra te sthitiḥ
« Ainsi donc, ô brāhmane, retourne chez toi tant que ton corps n’a pas encore été brûlé. Tes proches sont accablés de chagrin ; ce n’est pas le moment pour toi de demeurer là-bas. »
