Type: kshetra
Listener: Ānarta
Scene: Teacher enumerates three pre-saṃcayana śrāddhas; a map-like sense of stages: death-place, travel route, and saṃcayana spot, with ritual implements displayed.
Ancestral rites follow a sacred sequence; performing them in the proper place and stage honors the departed and sustains dharma.
The passage is within Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra Māhātmya, though the rule stated applies generally to Śrāddha practice.
Perform three Śrāddhas before saṃcayana; conduct a Śrāddha at the location where death occurred.
