saṃtṛptā māsamātraṃ ca tasthuḥ saṃtuṣṭamānasāḥ | gacchatā tvathakālena dauḥsthyaṃ prāpya narā bhuvi | darśe'sminnapi no śrāddhaṃ prāyaḥ kurvaṃti kecana
Type: kshetra
Scene: Two-part contrast: Pitṛs content for a month in their realm; then on earth, people fall into hardship and some neglect Amāvāsyā śrāddha—showing the cycle of remembrance and forgetfulness.
When śrāddha is neglected, ancestral support wanes and the social-spiritual order declines again into distress.
No particular tīrtha is specified; the verse stresses the sacred observance of darśa/Amāvāsyā.
It implicitly urges regular śrāddha on darśa/Amāvāsyā, noting that some fail to do it.
