Tirtha: Gayā (contextual source of the decree narrative)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Pārthiva (king)
Scene: Indra proclaims a sweeping rule to the mortal world; his stance is authoritative, vajra-bearing, with a cosmic echo; Viśvedevas witness the decree, the ritual ground still visible behind.
Dharma includes defined ritual boundaries; correct form and intention protect the efficacy of sacred rites.
The rule is declared in a Gayā-centered narrative, reinforcing Gayā’s authority in śrāddha tradition.
A normative injunction is announced: from then on, śrāddha should follow the newly set standard, otherwise it becomes ineffective.
