विषादग्नेः कुलघ्नानां तया चैवात्मघातिनाम् । दंष्ट्रिभिर्हतदेहानां शृंगिभिश्च सुरेश्वर । प्रेतत्वं जायते नूनं सत्यमेतदसंशयम्

viṣādagneḥ kulaghnānāṃ tayā caivātmaghātinām | daṃṣṭribhirhatadehānāṃ śṛṃgibhiśca sureśvara | pretatvaṃ jāyate nūnaṃ satyametadasaṃśayam

Pour ceux que consume le feu du désespoir, pour les meurtriers de leur lignée, et de même pour ceux qui se donnent la mort ; pour ceux dont le corps est tué par des bêtes à défenses ou par des créatures à cornes — ô Seigneur des dieux — l’état de preta naît assurément. C’est la vérité, sans aucun doute.
