Pulastya
Tirtha: Jyeṣṭha-kuṇḍa (contextual)
Type: kund
Scene: A cosmic convergence: innumerable tīrthas personified as radiant river-deities and kṣetra-devatās subtly ‘arriving’ and hovering around a sacred water-body during Vāruṇī, with pilgrims sensing an unseen gathering of sanctity.
Certain rites create a spiritual convergence: at the Vāruṇī Iṣṭi, tīrtha-power is said to assemble, multiplying pilgrimage merit.
The ritual location of the Vāruṇī Iṣṭi is glorified as a ‘tīrtha-confluence’ where the presence (sannidhi) of all tīrthas is believed to gather.
Participation in/observance of the Vāruṇī Iṣṭi occasion, understood as a time when tīrtha-presences converge.
