Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 11

पश्चिमायां यदा साऽभूत्प्रदक्षिणवशाच्छुभा । पश्चिमं वदनं तेन तदर्थं च कृतं ततः

paścimāyāṃ yadā sā'bhūtpradakṣiṇavaśācchubhā | paścimaṃ vadanaṃ tena tadarthaṃ ca kṛtaṃ tataḥ

Lorsque cette dame de bon augure, portée par la force de sa pradakṣiṇā, se trouva du côté de l’ouest, alors, pour cette raison même, un visage tourné vers l’ouest fut façonné, à cette fin précise.
