एवं ते समयं कृत्वा गता यावद्द्विजोत्तमाः । तावद्ध पतिना ज्ञाता न कश्चित्तत्र तिष्ठति

evaṃ te samayaṃ kṛtvā gatā yāvaddvijottamāḥ | tāvaddha patinā jñātā na kaścittatra tiṣṭhati

Ainsi, après avoir arrêté leur accord, ces brahmanes d’élite partirent ; alors le mari apprit qu’il ne restait là absolument personne.
