Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 10

इत्येवं ब्रुवतां शब्दः श्रूयते शिवसन्निधौ । स्वकीयं मतमास्थाय ह्यब्रुवंस्ते परस्परम् । तत्त्वज्ञानविहीनास्ते केवलं वेदबुद्धयः

ityevaṃ bruvatāṃ śabdaḥ śrūyate śivasannidhau | svakīyaṃ matamāsthāya hyabruvaṃste parasparam | tattvajñānavihīnāste kevalaṃ vedabuddhayaḥ

Tandis qu’ils parlaient ainsi, leur vacarme se faisait entendre en la présence de Śiva. S’attachant à leurs propres opinions, ils se querellaient entre eux. Dépourvus de la connaissance du Réel, ils n’avaient qu’un esprit tourné vers les Veda, et rien de plus.
