tapobalena mahatā tathā dānabalena ca | vettuṃ na śakyo madaṃno vinayena vinā dvijāḥ

Translation

Ni par la grande puissance de l’ascèse, ni par la force du don, Madana ne peut être vraiment connu sans humilité, ô deux-fois-nés.
