किं कार्यमद्यैव मया हि कार्यं येनैव देवा जयमाप्नुवंति । पराजयं दैत्यवराश्च सर्वे विष्णुः परात्मैव विचिंत्य सर्वम्
kiṃ kāryamadyaiva mayā hi kāryaṃ yenaiva devā jayamāpnuvaṃti | parājayaṃ daityavarāśca sarve viṣṇuḥ parātmaiva viciṃtya sarvam
« Que dois-je faire aujourd'hui, quel acte précis, pour que les dieux obtiennent la victoire et que tous les grands Daityas soient vaincus ? » Ainsi Viṣṇu, le Soi Suprême, médita sur toute chose.
