ये ब्राह्मणार्थे भृत्यार्थे स्वार्थे वै शस्त्रपाणयः । संग्रामं ये प्रकुर्वंति महापातकिनो नराः

Transliteration

ye brāhmaṇārthe bhṛtyārthe svārthe vai śastrapāṇayaḥ | saṃgrāmaṃ ye prakurvaṃti mahāpātakino narāḥ

Translation

Les hommes qui, l’arme à la main, font la guerre pour le bien des brahmanes, pour le bien de leurs dépendants/serviteurs, ou pour leur juste intérêt—ne sont pas blâmables ; mais ceux qui suscitent la guerre par l’injustice sont de grands pécheurs.
