Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 98

अस्य मे जननी हेतुः पावकस्य यथारणिः । माता देहारणिः पुंसः सर्वस्यार्थस्य निर्वृतिः

asya me jananī hetuḥ pāvakasya yathāraṇiḥ | mātā dehāraṇiḥ puṃsaḥ sarvasyārthasya nirvṛtiḥ

Pour moi, ma mère est la cause même de mon avènement, comme le feu naît de l’araṇi (bois à feu). La mère est l’« araṇi » du corps de l’homme : la source où tous les buts de la vie trouvent accomplissement et paix.
