पुरा निमित्ते कस्मिंश्चित्सर्वतीर्थाधिदैवताः । प्रणामाय ब्रह्मसदो ब्रह्माणं सहिता ययुः

purā nimitte kasmiṃścitsarvatīrthādhidaivatāḥ | praṇāmāya brahmasado brahmāṇaṃ sahitā yayuḥ

Autrefois, en une certaine occasion, les divinités tutélaires de tous les tīrtha se rendirent ensemble auprès de Brahmā, siégeant dans l’assemblée divine, afin de se prosterner devant lui avec révérence.
