संप्रविश्यान्नमध्ये तु पृथगन्नपृथग्जलम् । अग्नेरूर्ध्वं जलं स्थाप्य तदन्नं तज्जलोपरि
saṃpraviśyānnamadhye tu pṛthagannapṛthagjalam | agnerūrdhvaṃ jalaṃ sthāpya tadannaṃ tajjalopari
En pénétrant la masse de nourriture, il sépare la nourriture de l’eau. Plaçant l’eau au-dessus du feu digestif, il dispose la nourriture au-dessus de cette eau.
