Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 75

ईश्वरांशाश्च ते सर्वे मोहिताः प्राकृतैर्गुणैः । क्लेशानासादयंत्येव यथैवाधिकृता विभोः

īśvarāṃśāśca te sarve mohitāḥ prākṛtairguṇaiḥ | kleśānāsādayaṃtyeva yathaivādhikṛtā vibhoḥ

Tous ces êtres sont des parts du Seigneur Īśvara, mais ils sont abusés par les guṇa de la Prakṛti. Ils rencontrent assurément les afflictions (kleśa), selon la manière dont le Puissant les gouverne et les conduit.
