Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 72

तथा रजस्तमश्चैव संशोध्ये सात्त्विकैर्गुणैः । अस्मादेव गुणानां च समवायादनादिजात्

tathā rajastamaścaiva saṃśodhye sāttvikairguṇaiḥ | asmādeva guṇānāṃ ca samavāyādanādijāt

De même, rajas et tamas doivent être entièrement purifiés par les qualités sāttviques. Car de cette conjonction sans commencement naît le mélange des guṇa.
