Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 2

प्रणम्य चाग्रतस्तस्थौ प्रबद्धकरसंपुटः । संसारचरितैः किंचिद्द्रुःखी गाथां व्यगायत

praṇamya cāgratastasthau prabaddhakarasaṃpuṭaḥ | saṃsāracaritaiḥ kiṃciddruḥkhī gāthāṃ vyagāyata

Après s’être prosterné, il se tint devant (le Seigneur) les mains jointes en signe de révérence. Un peu affligé par les voies du saṃsāra, il chanta une hymne de supplication.
