Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 155

पितॄणां च ततः शेषं भोक्तुं माहेश्वरोऽर्हति । वाग्यतः शुचिराचांतः प्राङ्मुखोदङ्मुखोऽपि वा

pitṝṇāṃ ca tataḥ śeṣaṃ bhoktuṃ māheśvaro'rhati | vāgyataḥ śucirācāṃtaḥ prāṅmukhodaṅmukho'pi vā

Ensuite, le reste (après les offrandes) est digne d’être consommé par un dévot de Maheśvara. La parole maîtrisée, purifié, et après avoir accompli l’ācamana (gorgée d’eau rituelle), qu’il mange tourné vers l’est, ou bien, à défaut, vers le nord.
