Type: kshetra
Scene: Night at the shrine: devotees keep vigil with lamps, singing and reciting; offerings before the liṅga. Maheśvara’s presence is felt as a blessing pronounced for Skanda’s delight; the mood is luminous and purifying.
Devotion expressed through worship and vigilance reforms conduct—especially harshness—transforming the devotee through grace.
The instruction belongs to the Pratijñeśvara Liṅga-sthala context, where the vrata is to be performed.
Perform pūjā (ritual worship) and jāgaraṇa (night vigil) to obtain release from pāruṣya-pāpa.
