Listener: Skanda
Scene: Viṣṇu (Govinda) speaks as a calm preceptor to Skanda, raising a hand in teaching gesture, introducing the doctrine of Śiva’s two forms as known to Vedic sages.
True devotion is defined by inner disposition and right conduct; divine instruction clarifies devotion beyond mere labels.
None is specified in this verse; it is doctrinal teaching within the narrative.
No explicit rite; it introduces a doctrinal explanation of Rudra’s forms and the nature of devotion.
