निराहारं पतिं मत्वा तपस्तेपे पतिव्रता । तस्यास्तपसि वर्तंत्या इंद्रश्चक्रे विभीषिकाम्

nirāhāraṃ patiṃ matvā tapastepe pativratā | tasyāstapasi vartaṃtyā iṃdraścakre vibhīṣikām

Pensant que son époux observait le jeûne, l’épouse fidèle (pativratā) accomplit des austérités. Tandis qu’elle demeurait ferme dans ce tapas, Indra suscita une terreur pour la troubler.
