पुरा विष्णौ तपत्यत्र तल्लिंगं स्वयमेव हि । तत्राविरासीत्तेजस्वि तेन क्षेत्रमिदं शुभम्
purā viṣṇau tapatyatra talliṃgaṃ svayameva hi | tatrāvirāsīttejasvi tena kṣetramidaṃ śubham
Autrefois, lorsque Viṣṇu accomplissait ici des austérités, ce Liṅga se manifesta de lui-même. Rayonnant de splendeur, il apparut en ce lieu; c’est pourquoi cette terre sacrée est de bon augure.
