तल्लिंगदर्शनात्पुंसां ब्रह्महत्यादिपातकम् । विलीयेत न संदेहो देहबंधोपि नो पुनः
talliṃgadarśanātpuṃsāṃ brahmahatyādipātakam | vilīyeta na saṃdeho dehabaṃdhopi no punaḥ
Par la seule vision de ce liṅga, les péchés des hommes—à commencer par la brahmahatyā—se dissolvent ; il n’y a nul doute. Même l’attache au corps ne revient plus.
Skanda (deduced; Kāśīkhaṇḍa context typically Skanda → Agastya)
Type: temple
Scene: Devotees behold the liṅga; a visual metaphor of sins dissolving—dark smoke-like forms dispersing into light; the liṅga radiates a calm, liberating aura, suggesting release from bodily bondage.
Kāśī’s Śaiva sacred power is such that sincere darśana itself becomes liberating and sin-dissolving.
A specific liṅga in Kāśī (later identified as Pārvatīśa/Pārvatīśvara) is praised for its extraordinary darśana-fruit.
Darśana (reverent viewing/visitation) of the liṅga is presented as the efficacious practice.
