Type: kshetra
Listener: Devotee/practitioner; broader Kāśī audience within the Purāṇic dialogue frame
Scene: The hymn is formally named ‘Vajrapañjara’; a devotee under its protection stands fearless even before a descending thunderbolt, which dissolves into light at the boundary of Devī’s protective field.
Devotional protection is depicted as stronger than worldly threats, producing fearlessness through divine grace.
The teaching is preserved in the Kāśī Khaṇḍa corpus that glorifies Kāśī as a locus of liberating and protective dharma.
Using this Durgā-stotra as one’s trāṇa (protective safeguard).
