ऋणापनुत्तये मातुः कारितो न जलाशयः । नातिथिस्तोषितः क्वापि स्वर्गमार्गप्रदर्शकः
ṛṇāpanuttaye mātuḥ kārito na jalāśayaḥ | nātithistoṣitaḥ kvāpi svargamārgapradarśakaḥ
Pour acquitter ma dette envers ma mère, je n’ai pas fait construire de réservoir d’eau ; et je n’ai jamais comblé un hôte—alors que l’hospitalité indique la voie du ciel.
